People often hop between companies in the IT industry. A new project or technology opportunity often provides the excuse to jump ship. That doesn’t tend to happen at Intelliware because people find the next challenge within the organization. I find the environment stimulating and varied, and I fully expect to retire having worked at Intelliware for 30+ years!![]()

Intelliware has always been committed to building great, high quality software. Over the years, we have used a wide range of technologies, tools, protocols, standards and environments.
At the present time, most of our core development work is done in Java, developed for a range of platforms that run the gamut from BlackBerries, Windows desktops, all the way to large Unix and mainframe servers. Our tool sets often come from the Open Source world, but we have done work in all major commercial technology environments including the IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Sun and HP stacks. We work hard to comply with our clients’ specific technology needs, and favour standards-based, vendor neutral solutions.
Apart from Java, our developers have a wide range of experience in a number of languages and technologies including .NET, C++, C#, Smalltalk, Ruby, Python, Tcl, Perl, Python, Lisp, and many others.
Our core architectural approaches are rooted in object and services oriented theory. We build well architected, layered solutions that are intensely tested as a matter of course. Our solutions are often distributed applications that require a great deal of integration with legacy applications, but we have also built a large number of lightweight, stand alone solutions as well. At the present time, we find ourselves building a number of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications.
As far as database and application server environments go, we have production experience on all major commercial and open source environments including Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Informix, Sybase, MySQL, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, and many others. We also have experience in most major Open Source frameworks, stacks and tools such as Hibernate, Spring, Tapestry, AJAX, jBPM, Eclipse, xUnit, etc.
Staying on top of the technologies, tools and standards is a full-time job shared by all of our developers. Intelliware’s real strength and competitive advantage is in our peoples’ ability to absorb new technologies and put them to work quickly for our clients. The tools and technologies evolve, but our well architected systems gracefully adapt to change.
