Natural Insight iPhoneŽ App

Natural Insight is a leading on-demand solution provider for workforce management. Its technology platform enables companies to efficiently manage the scheduling, monitoring, data collection and reporting for employers who have a distributed workforce.

Since many of their clients use Natural Insight to manage a workforce that is on-the-go, the company believed an iPhone app would significantly extend the reach and capability of their current offering. By providing workers with a mobile app to use while in the field, Natural Insight could empower employers to better manage and support their workforce.

The app needed to be designed, developed and delivered in 4 weeks and had to be intuitive enough that end users wouldn’t require training. The app also had to be built so that changes to the back-end platform would not be required. This posed a unique challenge, since the app needed to seamlessly integrate new data points (location and time information) and a new data stream (input via the iPhone app) into the enterprise systems. Finally, the solution had to be scalable to ultimately support thousands of remote workers accessing and using the app concurrently.

Intelliware was engaged to develop the iPhone app, extending the workforce management capabilities of the Natural Insight product offering. Key to the success of the development effort was leveraging Intelliware’s existing Mobile Application Platform.

Intelliware worked closely with the marketing and technical teams from Natural Insight to optimize the end user experience and provide seamless integration to the existing enterprise systems.

The result was GPS Check-In, which providesa user-friendly iPhone app interface to a remote Natural Insight workforce management server. The app relies on the device’s built-in GPS capability, plus real-time integration with the workforce management platform from Natural Insight, to enable remote workers to verify their location by simply tapping the screen.

GPS Check-In not only gives Natural Insight a competitive edge in delivering a leading-edge solution to their clients, but also, in turn, gives their clients one – enabling them to more efficiently and effectively manage their distributed workforce, no matter where those workers may be.
